BMR Logbook for the months of January through April 2004 are currently under construction.  While we work on them, please enjoy these photos from the time period.

January 2004
We've got just the 2 months during our annual "break" to build a new doe barn from the ground up before kidding season begins with just the two of us doing all the work.  Can we really do it?
1/3/04: We break ground for the new Doe Barn 1/8/04: Precise lay-out was important Trenching for footings
Lots of rebar in the footings 1/10/04: Footings ready for the first concrete pour More rebar or bonding to the first course of block
1/14/04: footings poured and set 1/14/04: Starting the first corner The first few courses are critical
1/19/04: Making good progress - alomst ready for the first grout pour.
1/27/04: First grout pour done. Feed room slab ready to pour. 1/28/04: Starting the next section up
February 2004

The new barn work is going well but we've got a lot of VERY pregnant does waiting impatiently for their new home to be ready.

2/8/04: The walls are up, the final grout pour completed, and the feed room floor poured.
The roof trusses have arrived and we are anxious to begin erecting them
2/14/08: Trusses are in place and we work on the roof purlins 2/18/04: Metal roof panels are on and we start on the feed room walls
2/24/04: Feed room and manger system are completed The Girls approve of the new design.

2/28/04: The barn is completed except for some finishing touches and "punch-list" items.  Phew!  We made it just in time for the first kiddings!
