Summer 2014:

For the fourth year in a row Brill has been named as an Elite Doe, and she really deserves that.  She is a powerhouse milker.  Her daughter, Tally, has earned the title of Top Ten Breed Leader for her great production.  We are very happy to have kept two more Brill daughters this year.

Summer 2013:

Brill milked through for 2 years before we dried her off.  It was still hard to convince her to stop producing milk, but she did need a few months of vacation time before kidding with quadruplets this spring.  This girl is really determined to be an overachiever!  Her production peaked at over 2 gallons of milk per day (16.6# on our July milk test).

 Summer 2012:

We knew that Brill deserved a better LA score last year and this year she proved us right.  Even though she is milking through this year (she didn't kid this year and is still milking well for us) she had a lovely udder filled for the appraiser to see.  In fact she is still milking almost 10 pounds a day - that's over 5 quarts at a year and a half fresh.  She is a productive, beautiful girl and we are delighted with her.

 Summer 2011:

When Brill was born I dubbed her the "goat too ugly to sell" mostly due to her scratchy hair coat which was much different than the smooth, shiny, soft hair that most of our newborns have.  In fact, her name, Brillosa, is where Brillo Pads get their name.

Well, Brill didn't let my rude comments (and name) slow her down.  She is growing into a very lovely doe with very soft hair.  She kidded with triplets and went on to become our most productive first freshener - hitting over 11 pounds a day at peak production.  Due to the fact that Brill was appraised only a week or so after kidding with triplets, she did not score well.  We feel that her score will improve greatly next year once she matures a bit more and has more time to bounce back after her next kidding.

Brill earned Elite Doe status this year, ranking in the top 1% of Nubian does for confirmation, production, and the genetic ability to pass those traits on.  She also qualified for her Superior Genetics title.

Brillosa means "shiny" and "brilliant" so I guess Brill really has grown into her name.

 Summer 2010:

Brill is a vibrant, active girl with tons of potential.   She loves playing King of the Mountain with her buddies and getting loved on by her people.  We expect great things from Brill - and with parents like she has, I don't think it will be a problem for her to achieve them.
